What is the WisDems Platform? What Do We Stand for?
At our March membership meeting, member Barb Rodgers had a great suggestion to make the WisDems platform available on the website. Well, here it is! Click on this link to access the 6-page document. There are 4 categories, selected platform statements are highlighted:
Justice, Human Concerns and Democracy “Marginalized groups face formidable challenges including oppression, voter suppression, and inadequate access to nutritious food, healthcare, education, employment, and housing. We shall work to eliminate all forms of discrimination…”
Education, Labor and Economics “Quality public education for all is critical to a healthy democracy and economy…”
Agriculture and Environment “We must preserve responsible family farming by creating market systems that assure a fair return to both farmers and processors…”
Foreign Affairs—” …we oppose preemptive war, including drone strikes without verified direct threat to our country"…”
If you will be attending the April 11th Meet the Candidates, by reading the platform you can form questions to ask the candidates where they stand on xyz, or how would they see xyz being brought to reality.
