Get Up and Speak Out – WE DID IT!
Thank you to the over 60 participants who brought their children, dogs, lawn chairs, flags and best signs to join together on April 19th in Algoma to peacefully protest the current administration and to show solidarity with the community and those under attack.

Senator Andre Jacque Listening Session
State Senator Andre Jacque honored Kewaunee County residents with his presence at the listening session held at the Kewaunee Library. Scheduling the event during the day and at a limited capacity location, the Senator was not planning for the 45 who showed up. Carefully prepared speakers spoke to several concerns and bills sponsored and supported by Jacque. KewDems will highlight bills Republican legislators are trying to foist upon us and share what Democratic legislators are doing to defy them and support the people of Wisconsin. Stay tuned.
Public Outcry Works!
Protest Against Assembly Bill 163
On Tuesday, April 15, Republicans held a last-minute public hearing on Assembly Bill 163 which would have doubled the amount of paperwork families already struggle to complete and would ban the use of assistive technology to copy over information from previous forms. The public turned out and it worked! Republicans are not bringing this bill up for a vote.

The first Friday of each month Algoma’s art galleries, studios and stores open their doors for an evening where you can meet the artists, find intriguing buys, enjoy great conversation, partake of refreshments and participate in activities.
The Kewaunee County Democrats have decided to join in the fun! In April, we built a Resistance Playlist for use at various events like parades and protests. This month you can design your own protest poster! Our hosts are forming stations complete with poster boards, markers and so much more. Refreshments available.

Ron Johnson Hands Off Rally

Senator Ron Johnson has not held a town hall meeting in our area for years. However, he will be the main speaker at the Kewaunee County Republican Party dinner in May.
Let’s say NO to RoJo by attending the Hands Off rally sponsored by Indivisible Door County and the Democratic Party of Door County.

Protect Your Family From PFA’s presentation by Crystal Brown BSN, RN, administrative assistant with the Clean Water Action Council. PFA’s are chemicals found in everyday items like non-stick pans and shampoos. Ms. Brown will have examples of the culprits, alternative options and address related social justice issues.

July 10th–13th

The party will have an indoor booth at the fair. Volunteers needed for set up, 2 hour shifts working the booth, and take down. Always to have 2 volunteers staffing the booth. Especially asking Veterans to help staff the booth. Free passes provided to booth volunteers. Volunteers are needed to participate in the parade. Contact kcdpwi@gmail.com

Pop-Up Coordinator: To coordinate the pop-up events occurring throughout the year such as at the legislator town halls, peaceful protests and other events.
Delegates: To be a delegate to the state convention (must be a member).
Kewaunee County Fair: To help with the booth and parade volunteers.

New Office Hours And A Closure
Location: 305 Steele St, Suite 102, Algoma. First floor. Entrance during office hours is the middle door on Third Street. Office hours have changed effective immediately to:
Mondays 3-6 p.m., Fridays 4-7 p.m.
The office will be closed on federal holidays and associated long weekends. The office will be closed for Memorial Day Weekend, Friday May 23rd and Monday May 26th.
