Dems are tirelessly working to lower healthcare costs

In one week, the open enrollment period to get health insurance on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplace comes to an end. This means we are that much closer to seeing just how devastating the cuts the GOP has made to this vital program will have.

Here's the bottom line: Democrats are doing everything they can to restore the funding, but Republicans currently hold all the cards in Washington. Meanwhile, GOP lawmakers in our state have repeatedly refused to expand the program and consistently pushed to gut Medicaid funding!

Why it is important: Democrats are introducing legislation, holding community events, and speaking out in defense of continuing the ACA tax credits that will prevent nearly 300,000 Wisconsinites from seeing their premiums go up. Meanwhile, Republicans in the legislature who hold the majority are stonewalling! In 2026, flipping the state legislature is our only option if we want policies that support Wisconsin families.
