ON TOM TIFFANY’S SUPPORT FOR ELECTION INTEREFERENCE
TOPLINE: Last week, election-denier Congressman Tom Tiffany declared his support for Trump’s plan to deploy thousands of federal officials to states including Wisconsin during this year’s November midterm elections.
Tiffany, who objected to certifying the 2020 presidential election results, is welcoming Trump’s election interference in the midterms with open arms. Tiffany told supporters at a campaign event on Sept. 17th that Trump’s Department of Justice would be sending officials to Wisconsin for the November midterm elections, calling the decision “good news.”
Tiffany’s comments come just days after FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed agents known as “election crime coordinators” would be stationed at all FBI field offices.
The number of federal officials being deployed during this year’s midterms would number 1,000, a significant increase from the less than 300 that were deployed during the 2022 midterm elections.
This is one more dangerous step to undermine democracy in Wisconsin, with the stakes extending far beyond this year’s midterms. Trump wants a crony in office when it comes time to certify the 2028 presidential election results, someone willing to do whatever he wants–and Tom Tiffany is his guy.
With prices still soaring and Trump’s approval rating underwater, Republicans are running scared. Instead of addressing the issues hurting Wisconsin families, they are looking for ways to interfere in our elections and subvert the will of voters.
It is critically important that this November, Wisconsinites get out and vote and make their voices heard to stand up against this effort by Trump and Tiffany to overrule the will of voters.
