Gas prices have reached near-record highs in Wisconsin due to Wisconsin Republicans who unapologetically back Trump’s war-of-choice in Iran that is making life more unaffordable for working Wisconsinites.
Democrats tried to end the Trump administration’s illegal actions overseas by forcing a vote on the War Powers Act, which would have stopped the war in Iran, but every single Wisconsin Republican voted against it. Now, Wisconsinites are feeling the effects at the pump.
David Crowley knows that working families can’t afford the costs of gas that D.C. politicians like Tom Tiffany are keeping high by supporting Trump’s reckless wars abroad.
Crowley will eliminate the state's minimum markup law that requires retailers in most cases to mark up the price of gas 9.18% above the average wholesale price.
ON THE GOP CONVENTION
TOPLINE: Last week’s GOP convention was a last-ditch effort by republicans to distract voters from their abysmal record that continues to devastate Wisconsin. As Republican candidates are licking the boots of a delusional billionaire playing as president, Democrats are here at home doing the real work to clean up Republicans’ mess.
The convention, fittingly nicknamed, “Trump-a-palooza,” laid out in full force the corruption that runs rampant among Republican ranks and served as a flashy display of wealth while working people are at home struggling to get by.
Republicans like Derrick Van Orden and Bryan Steil chose to ditch their constituents for Dallas to cozy up to Trump and his wealthy buddies.
During his convention speech, President Trump attempted to bribe voters, announcing impractical $5,000 checks if Republicans win both chambers of Congress—another one of his shocking empty promises that would cost over $1 trillion.
Van Orden made a desperate effort to reinvigorate his failing Congressional campaign by giving a convention speech chock full of lies. He spent his time on stage trying to hide his disastrous record on healthcare and repeating the lie that he secured Medicaid funding despite voting for massive cuts to the program.
Meanwhile, David Crowley and the Democratic ticket were here in Wisconsin, traveling to Wisconsin communities, talking with voters, coming up with solutions to clean up Republicans’ mess, and doing the real work of campaigning.

TOPLINE: David Crowley is a proud father of three, husband, runs the largest county in the state of Wisconsin, and has now been chosen as the Democratic nominee for governor because of his long record of delivering for Wisconsinites. Just like he did as County Executive, David Crowley will grow an economy rooted in local ownership and union labor.
